Orphaned and Abandoned Children | Malnutrition

As the number of orphans escalates around the world, there is an increasing demand for sensory stimulation, nurturing touch and palliative care within orphanages and childcare settings. It is the vision of the Liddle Kidz Foundation Global to make a true difference for children who have been orphaned, along with their caregivers who lack the necessary support to provide them with best developmental care possible.

Within the countries and regions of where our outreach programs extend, there are many children who are faced with the daily reality of hunger and malnutrition. Without access to an adequate amount of healthy food sources, children are denied essential nutrients to promote healthy growth and development. When the body lacks the absorption of essential nutrients and fluids, it begins to starve and breakdown, affecting quality of health while generating a multitude of health problems. Malnutrition is a main contributing factor for diseases such as scurvy, rickets, kwashiorkor, anemia, pellagra, osteoporosis, goiter, and many more.  The effects of malnutrition on a child’s body can be internally devastating, and in many cases damage to internal organs is permanent. Millions of people across the globe die of hunger and disease due to nutrient deficiency, and statistics show that malnutrition contributes to half of all childhood mortality worldwide.

Malnutrition is an issue that presents itself in many regions of poverty, places undergoing political conflict, natural disaster and war. This epidemic is non-discriminatory of underdeveloped countries, but is inflicted upon children of many nations and races.

Liddle Kidz Foundation Global uses nurturing touch to ease cramps, body aches, improve sleep patterns, improve healthy weight gain, reduce anxiety, and decrease levels of Cortisol.

Liddle Kidz Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization that uses the power of touch to reach the world’s most vulnerable children with experiences of appropriate nurturing touch that they often lack.   We collaborate with caregivers and healthcare professionals to raise awareness of the practice and benefits of nurturing touch for children.
