Melanie McGuire is a licensed massage therapist with additional training and certifications in infant massage and pediatric massage. She has also received specialized advanced education in providing touch therapies for children affected by diagnoses categorized on the Autism Spectrum.
In practice for six years, Melanie, originally went into massage therapy to work with trauma survivors, and created Full Circle Healing Massage. Using massage as my tool she has worked with individuals to change their path by taking an active part in the positive choices they can make for their body.
After the birth of her first child she realized how much her life was changed and decided the path of healthy nurturing touch really began in infancy. This is when she shifted her focus to infants, children and their families. Melanie has found her passion in working with families, specifically underserved and at risk families.
She has had the privilege to work and volunteer in her community with teen moms and immigrant families teaching massage and being a part of the process of using positive touch to strengthen a new family and instill confidence in parents. What seems so simple as touch is really the most powerful act and can change lives, and Melanie feels it is an honor to be able to work in such a field is immense.
Melanie is surrounded by the loving support of her husband, and three beautiful children in Ridgefield Connecticut.
Why do you feel you would be an asset to the Liddle Kidz Foundation volunteer team?
I work well in groups and I have a good understanding of what collaboration really means. My heart is in this outreach mission to spread the goal of Liddle Kidz and to leave a positive impact with the families and kids I would have the honor of meeting.
Why would you like to participate in this outreach event?
My heart is sparked by working with others and being a part of outreach. To me success is being significant in someone’s life. It is small significant moments that can change a life. Having the opportunity to reach out to others and having the chance to have a positive impact on them is, is a way of giving thanks for my gifts and blessings. I have had many amazing experiences working with families with massage and seeing how it changes their family I would love the opportunity to work on this big scale, working in other parts of the world sharing massage and positive touch.
