Joanne Allen is a registered massage therapist and RMTA member with specialized training in Visceral Manipulation.
She has been a registered massage therapist for 3 1/2 yrs, providing therapeutic and relaxation massage in a chiropractic clinic in Olds, Alberta, Canada.
Her passion for children and caring began years before obtaining her massage therapy background.
Joanne is a Certified Teaching Assistant, and previously owned and operated a preschool program for children aged 3–5 years. This preschool has been thriving for the past five years providing care to many children throughout her community.
Over her career working with children, Joanne has worked with children with a variety of needs including children with specials healthcare needs, autism, and behavioral disorders, in a group home setting and provided inclusion programs through preschool. She has vast experience working with children age 0-6 years, and is also a mother herself to 2 children.
Joanne strives to use caring and passion to help others reach their health and wellness goals while keeping a positive outlook on life. She believes educating and helping those learn how to help themselves is the best road to better health!
When Joanne is not busy with her own children, and therapeutic practice she can usually be found planning her next adventure, listening to music, or dancing!
She has a strong passion for travel and to see the world, Joanne says, “I believe there is much to learn from our diverse society.”
Why do you feel you would be an asset to the Liddle Kidz Foundation volunteer team?
I feel my previous childcare experience, combined with my heart and my hands will be an asset to the Liddle Kidz volunteer team!
Why would you like to participate in this outreach event?
I would like to participate in this event to share the benefits of nurturing touch. I believe we are all global citizens, and as a prosperous society we have an amazing opportunity to share our care and compassion with others. A little can go a long way! I have a passion for travel and helping others, the experience of learning about other cultures opens the heart and mind. I love the idea of sharing the amazing power of touch and empowering others working with children.
