Katie Veatch is a Certified Infant Massage Teacher and certified yoga teacher with over a decade of experience from Provincetown, Massachusetts. Ms. Veatch studied Psychology at the University of Massachusetts.
While in college, Ms. Veatch had the opportunity to meet a child development professor who had the experience of traveling to orphanages and teaching massage to the people who worked there. At the time, Ms. Veatch immediately recognized the great benefits of nurturing touch for children who were isolated and not receiving the care that was vitally necessary to flourish.
In an effort to enhance her career in child development and care, she has worked with children with developmental disabilities, as well as a personal childcare consultant throughout Florida, Chicago, New York, and Western Massachusetts. She has plans to expand her professional practice to include teaching yoga to children with special healthcare needs.
Ms. Veatch hopes to able to take what she has learned and carry on the message of peace through nurturing touch through working with children and families in need.
Why do you feel you would be an asset to the Liddle Kidz Foundation volunteer team?
“I have a great energy and passion for working with children. I have experience working with typical children as well as children with disabilities, and I am comfortable around people living with HIV/AIDS. I grew up in a small community that has been dealing with the AIDS epidemic from its beginnings in the United States, and through ongoing support for its residents living with HIV/AIDS, we have one of the largest outreach programs in the state of Massachusetts.
Additionally, I have always loved working with children! I find children to be endlessly fascinating, and I find that I can learn so much from them. I love an opportunity to interact with miniature explorers and inventors every day.”
There are millions of infants and children worldwide who are struggling to live to their fullest potential. Would you like an opportunity to bring nurturing touch and pediatric massage to orphaned and displaced children around the globe?
Do you wish to share your skills with children who are affected by Cerebral Palsy, AIDS/HIV, landmines, Agent Orange, developmental disabilities, genetic birth defects, mental and emotional trauma?
Just ask yourself . . . can one person make a difference?
Take this moment to make a difference in the life of a child.
