Kristen Terlesky, CCLSis a Child Life Specialist who has training and certification in pediatric massage therapy.
She was born and raised in Arlington, VA but currently calls Albuquerque, NM home.
Kristen attended Mount Holyoke College where she earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a Minor in Education and she spent several years as an Elementary Special Education teacher in both Virginia and New Mexico.
During college, she spent a summer in Guatemala doing volunteer work teaching young children. Having always had a passion to work with children, teaching seemed to be a perfect fit.
After taking time off to raise their daughters, Kristen continued her passion of working with children and families in the capacity of a Child Life Specialist at Albuquerque’s Presbyterian Hospital.
She has served on the Bereavement Committee at Presbyterian Hospital, and volunteered as a Bereavement Facilitator for the Children’s Grief Center. Her commitment to health has included running multiple marathons in conjunction with fundraising efforts for charity groups, and now extends to her passion in teaching others how to incorporate essential oils into their wellness routines.
In her free time, Kristen enjoys cooking, swimming, practicing yoga, getting crafty, and spending time with her family and their three pups!
Why would you like to participate in this outreach event?
This is something I am meant to do. I’ve always been a caregiver, and I’m ready to change lives and have mine changed too. There are no cons on my list of pros and cons!
Why do you feel you would be an asset to the Liddle Kidz Foundation volunteer team?
I am quiet, yet mighty, and when I am passionate about something, you’ll know. When I watched the documentary of the Liddle Kidz Foundation Vietnam outreach trip, I literally got goosebumps. That is passion. I FELT it. The thing about passion is that you can’t fake it. It’s there or it’s not, and there is no in between. I would be honored to be a part of this global outreach initiative.
There are millions of infants and children worldwide who are struggling to live to their fullest potential. Would you like an opportunity to bring nurturing touch and pediatric massage to orphaned and displaced children around the globe?
Do you wish to share your skills with children who are affected by Cerebral Palsy, AIDS/HIV, landmines, Agent Orange, developmental disabilities, genetic birth defects, mental and emotional trauma?
Just ask yourself . . . can one person make a difference?
Take this moment to make a difference in the life of a child.
Apply now to be part of our next international volunteer team . . .you too, can be a Liddle Kidz Global Ambassador!
